California Partnership Academies SB70 Continued Funding

Funding Description

Funding is available for the CPA Program and is contingent on inclusion in the approved State Budget. Funding will be provided through the Governor’s Technical Education (CTE) Initiative. The CPAs are effective school / district / business partnership, providing integrated academic and career technical instruction. The CPA model, a school-within-a-school for students interested in exploring, preparing for careers, and college.

Required Eligibility Criteria This is special funding for the CPA Program. Schools participating in the program must follow the specification of California Education Code sections 54690–54696.
Other Eligibility Considerations CPA grant awards are determined by the program implementation level and number of qualifying academy students ($42,000–$81,000 grants) of currently operating academies. The remaining balance may be issued in one-time grants per the 2008 Budget Act, Item 6110-166-0001.

Legal Authority Funding will be provided through the CTE Initiative (SB 70), pursuant to the supplemental report of Budget Item 6110-170-0001, community colleges, related to the CTE Plan; CPA model California Education Code sections 54690–54696.
