Administrator Training Program

NOTE: The application due date for this program has passed.

An opportunity to apply for federal funding for the Administrator Training Program is available for fiscal year (FY) 2011-12. Please be advised that these applications will go before the November 2011 meeting of the State Board of Education for approval and grant awards are anticipated to be released in November 2011. The grant period for these funds is from July 1, 2011 through September 1, 2013. All training and online surveys must be completed by that time. The Administrator Training Program supports professional development that focuses on building principal and vice principal leadership skills and the capacity necessary to serve effectively in their critical and complex roles. Federal funding comes from No Child Left Behind (NCLB): Title II, Part A, Principal Training.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants	Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria	Principals or vice principals at a school site can participate in Administrators Training.
Other Eligibility Considerations	Principals or vice principals at school sites that receive the following funding are required to participate in Administrator Training: Reading First, High Priority Schools, and the School Assistance Intervention Team programs.

Allocation Formula	The total funding available is $1,638,000. The recipient funding amount is $3,000. The first payment of $1,500 is disbursed after the online applications are approved by the SBE and the signed grant award is returned by the LEA. The final payment of $1,500 is disbursed after the required 160 hours have been entered in the Management System for Administrator Training database, and the online survey has been completed.
