Economic Impact Aid

NOTE: The application due date for this program has passed.

Economic Impact Aid is a state categorical program that provides supplemental funds to support (1) additional programs and services for English learners (EL) and (2) compensatory education services for educationally disadvantaged students. (Note: English Language Acquisition Program (ELAP) funds were rolled into EIA starting in 2010-11, but beginning in 2011-12 are to be used only for EIA purposes.)

County juvenile court schools: Statewide average per pupil rate (currently $337.10) times the sum of these 3 items, except use their (adjusted) Free Meal eligible count instead of Title I formula child count.

Other A school shall use EIA funds to support programs and activities designed to assist English learners achieve proficiency in the English language and to support programs and activities designed to improve the academic achievement of educationally and economically disadvantaged pupils. Allowable expenditures may include the purchase of supplemental materials and expenses that support paraprofessionals, supplemental resource teachers, and the operation of EL advisory committees. EIA Funds shall supplement and not supplant existing resources at the school site.
