The California Mathematics and Science Partnership (CaMSP) program will fund continuing partnerships for up to $1 million, and will fund new partnerships at up to $500,000 to improve the academic achievement of students in mathematics and science through a focus on the integration of STEM disciplines.

| Required Eligibility Criteria |
The essential partnership is between an eligible local educational agency (LEA) and eligible departments of institutions of higher education (IHE). County offices of education, individual schools, additional LEAs, IHEs, or other organizations interested in mathematics and science professional development may also participate in the partnership. Only LEAs who meet the 40 percent free and reduced lunch criteria may apply as a lead partner. |
| Other Eligibility Considerations |
The lead partner must be a "high-need LEA." The lead partner submits the application and accepts management and fiduciary responsibility for the partnership. The term "high-need LEA" refers to one that serves a student population where at least 40 percent of the students qualify for the National School Lunch Program. Eligible departments of IHEs are mathematics, science, engineering, or technology. Math or science must be one of the disciplines. |
