School Community Violence Prevention

NOTE: The application due date for this program has passed.

The School Community Violence Prevention Program provides grants of up to $500,000 for a five-year period for school districts or county offices of education wishing to address school safety and violence prevention issues. Approximately 10 percent of the funds will be awarded to applications for quality projects from rural school districts in California. Please note: The Crime and Violence Prevention Center at the Attorney General Office has long been our partner in the administration of the SCVP grant. This office was recently eliminated as a result of reductions in the budget at the Attorney General Office. Please contact CDE staff if you have questions.
