We are pleased to announce the availability of the 2008 edition of the California School Accounting Manual (CSAM). New and updated procedures were approved by the California State Board of Education on March 12, 2008.
CSAM Highlights:
The 2008 edition of the CSAM includes one new and twenty-three updated procedures for 2008. The changes included in CSAM 2008 are summarized in the following:

Ordering CSAM:
Complete CSAM manuals may be ordered in hard copy from the CDE Press Sales Office. To purchase a copy, see the order information. (To obtain just the 2008 new and updated procedures, or to view the entire CSAM online, see "viewing" and "downloading" following.)
Viewing CSAM:
California School Accounting Manual (CSAM) - Complete (PDF; 15MB; 613pp.) PDF format for online viewing, searching, and printing of the complete manual. NOTE: The entire manual is quite large (613 pages) and may take longer than expected to load into a browser or to print.
California School Accounting Manual (CSAM) - 2008 Updates Only (PDF; 10MB; 363pp.) PDF format for online viewing, searching, and printing of only the 2008 new and updated procedures.
Downloading CSAM:
Printing Note: Due to variations in printers, fonts, etc., downloading and printing from this MS Word version will not always produce an exact replica of the published version. We recommend using the MS Word version only if you are planning to merge parts of the manual into locally developed training materials.
California School Accounting Manual (CSAM) - Complete (EXE; 2MB) This Microsoft (MS) Word 2003 version is available as zipped, self-extracting files for downloading and then viewing and printing of individual procedures. (See note above about printing from this version.)
Download Instructions: Using the link above, a self-extracting zipped file named "CSAM2008Complete.exe" must be downloaded and saved to your "C:" drive. Once done, using your Windows Explorer, double click on the "CSAM2008Complete.exe" file on your "C:" drive. The file will unzip and put 80 MS Word 2003 documents into a default folder named c:\CSAM2008Complete.

(See note above about printing from this version.)

Once done, using your Windows Explorer, double click on the "CSAM2008UpdateOnly.exe" file on your "C:" drive. The file will unzip and put 30 MS Word 2003 documents into a default folder named c:\CSAM2008UpdateOnly.
