SNP CNIPS Training

The Nutrition Services Division (NSD) is pleased to provide training resources to assist you with implementation of the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS).

The CDE CNIPS Web page includes Frequently Asked Questions and updates on the system. In addition to the integrated help feature in the CNIPS, training videos and a comprehensive School Nutrition Programs (SNP) User Manual are available. Recorded Training

This training includes an introductory presentation and software simulation or “how to” videos for the key components of the CNIPS. The software simulation videos are approximately five to fifteen minutes in length.

NOTE: These software simulation videos use Adobe Flash Player, providing an easy-to-use interface for learning the CNIPS. We recommend downloading the most current version of Adobe Flash Player to view these videos from Adobe Flash Player .

A: Introductory

1. Overview
   This presentation provides an overview of the CNIPS project including system functions, implementation schedule, and training resources.
2. Getting Started
   This video simulates how to view and operate recorded training sessions.
3. Logging On
   This video simulates how to initially log on to the CNIPS and change your password.

B: Application

1. Starting Your Application Packet
   This video simulates how to enroll in the 2008-09 school year.
2. Completing Your Application Packet
   This video simulates how to submit an application for CDE approval.
3. Adding New Sites
   This video simulates how to add new sites to existing agreements.

C: Reimbursement Claim

1. Sponsor-Level Claim Submission
   This video simulates claiming at the sponsor (aggregated) level.
2. Site-Level Claim Submission
   This video simulates claiming at the site level (site data aggregates to the sponsor level for claim submission purposes).
3. Adjusted Sponsor-Level Claims
   This video simulates how to submit adjustments to previously submitted sponsor-level claims.
4. Adjusted Site-Level Claims
   This video simulates how to submit adjustments to previously submitted site-level claims.
