The Administrator Training Program (AB 430), which reauthorizes the Principal Training Program (AB 75), became effective July 1, 2006. It supports professional development that focuses on building principals' and vice principals' leadership skills and the capacity necessary to serve effectively in their critical and complex roles. Federal funding comes from No Child Left Behind (NCLB): Title II, Part A, Principal Training.

| Allocation Formula | The total funding available is $6,554,000, of which $5,000,000 is from state funds, and $1,554,000 is federal funding. The recipient funding amount is $3,000. The first payment of $1,500 is disbursed after the training particpant's name is entered into the Management System for Administrator Training (MSfAT) database. The final payment of $1,500 is disbursed after all requirements of the program have been met (total of 160 hours and survey) and entered into the MSfAT database. |
