Funding Description

Federal funding in the amount of $33 million is available to local educational agencies (LEAs) in California for the purpose of lowering the student-to-computer ratio in classrooms, grades four through eight. The funds will be distributed through a competitive grant program to schools that have been renovated, are currently undergoing renovation, or will be renovated in the near future. Eligible applicants include school districts and county offices of education that serve any combination of grades four through eight.

Eligibility

Required Eligibility Criteria Schools are eligible only if they have recently been renovated or will soon be renovated, as defined in the application. A locally funded charter school should be included within an application filed by the school district. Free and reduced price lunch participation is not a factor in eligibility.
