Commission on Technology in Learning (CTL)

AB 598 has two parts. The first part establishes the CTL, designates its membership and appointing bodies, and areas of responsibility. The second part requires a school district to have a technology plan as a precondition of receiving any technology grant administered by California Department of Education on or after January 1, 2002.

Network Technology Planning Guide (NTPG)

Although last updated in 1995, the Network Technology Planning Guide still provides a standard framework for the technical aspects of the network while allowing flexibility to individual sites as to how they will use the tools of the network once they become available. The framework was based upon current and available technologies and incorporates design strategies which will allow sites to take advantage of new technologies as they emerge.
