Funding Description

Regional After School Technical Assistance System (RASTAS) funding supports local educational agencies (LEAs) that serve as the Regional Lead County Office of Education (COE) to provide field-based technical assistance and support to current and prospective 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC). The regions of the state served by the Regional Lead COE correspond to the 11 service regions of the California County Superintendents’ Educational Services Association. As part of the Statewide System of Field Support, the Regional Lead COE serve on behalf of the California Department of Education (CDE), After School Programs Office, in providing support to local before- and after-school programs based on regional needs.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Only LEAs that are current regional lead COEs are eligible for funding. Eligible agencies include: Region 1 - Mendocino COE, Region 2 - Butte COE, Region 3 - Sacramento COE, Region 4 - Alameda COE, Region 5 - Monterey COE, Region 6 - Stanislaus COE, Region 7 - Tulare COE, Region 8 - Ventura COE, Region 9 - San Diego COE, Region 10 - San Bernardino COE, Region 11 - Los Angeles COE.
