2020-21 School Breakfast Program and Summer Meal Programs Start-up and Expansion


Note: The due date for the request for applications has passed. This page is for reference and administration of funding.

Funding is for nonrecurring expenses incurred in initiating or expanding a: (1) School Breakfast Program (SBP), serving students in kindergarten through grade twelve or (2) Summer Meal Program (SMP), serving children and youth eighteen years of age and under during school breaks. School districts, direct-funded charter schools, and county offices of education may apply for one or both types of grants; however, only one type of grant may be awarded per school site. Private schools, residential child care institutions, and juvenile detention centers are not eligible to receive these funds.

Assurances and Certifications

Document Description
General Assurances and Certifications Required of applicants and grantees as a condition of receiving funds. Applicants do not need to sign and return the general assurances and certification with the application; instead, they must download them and keep them on file to be available for compliance reviews, complaint investigations, or audits. Applicants that participate in the Consolidated Application - ConApp - should already have a copy of the general assurances and certifications on file and do not need to keep a separate copy. Program-specific assurances are not included here and should be listed separately on the Request for Application (RFA).
