To High School Principals and Counselors:
The California Department of Education (CDE) has prepared Honors at Graduation certificates for you to present to seniors who will be given special recognition at your spring commencement ceremony. Your school or district is responsible for developing its own criteria to identify recipients for this honor. Possible candidates might include students with high grade point averages, outstanding leadership skills, or dedication to community service.
Each of your graduates represents another educated student who is ready to assume a responsible position in our democratic society. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell and CDE staff offer congratulations to all of your graduates and send our very best wishes for their future.
The certificates are available only on this Web site. Printed copies are not available from CDE. You may download the number of certificates you need either in color or black and white.
