California Adult Education Honor Roll

This project honors outstanding adult students with significant life responsibilities who have made positive contributions to the community, established and met life goals by attending an adult education program, improved the life situations of self and others, and overcome difficult circumstances in order to pursue adult learning experiences. The project recognizes the hard work that outstanding adult education students have completed in the pursuit of their personal, academic, and professional goals and aspirations.

This project identifies new, innovative, or proven strategies in adult education. A Promising Practice must improve program accountability, focus on development of skills needed in the workplace, promote collaboration and cooperation with other local agencies, promote the effective use of technology, or have potential application in other agencies.

EL Civics: Making a Difference in the Community Awards External link opens in new window or tab.
This project identifies local agencies that helped and encouraged their students to actively use their newly acquired English language and literacy skills to interact with their communities in ways that make a difference to themselves, their families, and their communities.
