Funding Description

Funding supports the provision for specialized services for students with any combination of 13 categories of disabilities as required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).


Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Must ensure that the specialized services are provided by appropriately credentialed or trained individuals.
Other Eligibility Considerations Specialized services must be identified on the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Eligible Grade Level(s) 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Eligible Age Level(s) 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, up to age 21

Allocation Formula The San Diego County Office of Education and the San Bernardino County Office of Education provide support to juvenile court schools serving eligible students. This grant provides support for on-going efforts to improve services to these students as established in the 2008 Budget Act, item 6110-001-0001.
