Title III Technical Assistance for Improvement Agreement


Funding Description

Pursuant to statutory requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, local educational agencies (LEAs) that fail to meet one or more Title III Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs) for two consecutive years must develop an improvement plan. LEAs failing to achieve one or more Title III AMAOs for four consecutive years are required to “modify the entity’s curriculum, program, and method of instruction.” Funding is given to one lead county office of education within each region for the purpose of guiding identified LEAs through specific requirements to ensure future success in meeting Title III AMAOs.

Required Eligibility Criteria Eleven selected county offices of education will function as lead agencies within the State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s eleven regions, providing technical assistance to those LEAs that fail to meet one or more Title III AMAOs for two or four consecutive years.
