The California Department of Education (CDE) is accepting applications for the Child Nutrition Advisory Council (CNAC). The mission of the CNAC is to work with the Department to offer recommendations in areas of the Child Nutrition Programs for California’s pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public school students.
Positions Under Recruitment:
- Classroom Teacher
- Curriculum Coordinator
- Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) or Organization (PTO)
- Student
Term of Office
Each CNAC position will fulfill a three-year term ending December 31, 2029, with the exception of the student position, whose term is from September 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
Application Due Date
CNAC professional member and student member applications are due by Friday, September 18, 2026.

Meeting Schedule
The CNAC typically convenes remote meetings for one full day, three times per year.

The applications must be completed using the appropriate CNAC position application link. Hard copy applications are not accepted.
