2017 California History–Social Science
Instructional Materials Adoption (Kindergarten through Grade Eight)Reviewers Needed
The California Department of Education (CDE) and State Board of Education (SBE) are seeking reviewers to participate in the 2017 History–Social Science (HSS) Instructional Materials Adoption.
The Task
Reviewers will evaluate the instructional materials for alignment to the California history–social science standards and the newly revised history–social science curriculum framework, utilizing the standards maps and evaluation criteria maps that have been approved by the SBE for this adoption.
Important Meeting Dates
- April 25–28, 2017: Reviewer training held at the DoubleTree hotel in Sacramento.
- May through July, 2017: Independent review of instructional materials.
- July 25–28, 2017: Reconvene in panels per session assignment, again at the DoubleTree hotel in Sacramento, for deliberations and the preparation of a report of findings.
The CDE will reimburse travel costs for all reviewers for the meeting days.
