California Basic Educational Data System Due Date Reminder

You are receiving this letter because you are listed as the California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) coordinator for your local educational agency (LEA) and we have not received your LEA’s CBEDS data. This letter is to remind CBEDS coordinators that their LEA’s CBEDS data are due to the California Department of Education (CDE) on or before October 31, 2023.

CBEDS data are to be submitted by all LEAs using the CBEDS-Online Reporting Application (ORA), which is available via the CDE CBEDS-ORA logon web page at http://www3.cde.ca.gov/opuscbeds/login.aspx. Additional resources, including training and instructional documents, are available on the CDE CBEDS web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/dc/cb/index.asp.  

If you believe that you have already submitted CBEDS data for your LEA, please log on to CBEDS-ORA and verify your submission status, which may be viewed in the box at the top of the Main Menu page. If your CBEDS Certification Status is listed as “Certified,” no action is needed. If your status is “Not Certified,” select the “Certify Data” option from the Main Menu and follow the prompts to certify your data. Please note that all errors must be resolved before data can be submitted.
