| Allocation Formula | Of the total $22,101,000 funding available, $17,411,000 is available for expenditure in 2007-08, and $4,690,000 is deferred for expenditure in 2008-09. Local educational agencies (LEAs) are funded at a rate of $4.08 per pupil hour, except for small districts (those with 499 or fewer pupils), which are allowed the higher funding rate of $5.81 per pupil hour. Supplemental hours for second through sixth grade pupil attendance as reported on the Attendance screens in the Principal Apportionment software will be used. The maximum number of funded hours for LEAs is calculated by multiplying 120 hours by 5 percent of the prior year's California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) K-12 enrollment. A proration factor may be applied if statewide claims are over the annual budget allocation. |
