Child Care Facilities Revolving Fund General Facilities Application FY 2018-19

Funding Description

The Child Care Facilities Revolving Fund (CCFRF) General Facilities loan provides funding for the purchase of new relocatable child care facilities for lease to school districts and contracting agencies that provide child care and development services. Applicant agencies receiving funds under the CCFRF General Facilities loans must repay the CDE over a ten-year period, interest free. The CCFRF is not a grant program.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Existing child care provider agencies that serve subsidized children are eligible to apply for funds through the CCFRF. Within the CCFRF, $10 million is available to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) with CSPP contracts only. An additional $16.8 million is available for LEAs and non-LEAs.
Other Eligibility Considerations Applicant agencies must have a current need for facilities due to (1) class size reduction or other displacements; (2) program expansion; or (3) replacement due to health and safety needs. The applicant agencies must also be in good standing with the California Department of Education.
