Infant/Toddler Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) Grant Program

Funding Description

This program allocates $24,163,000.00 of one-time funding through June 30, 2017, for Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) consortia to provide training, technical assistance, and resources to help infant and toddler child care providers meet a higher tier of quality as determined by their local QRIS rating matrix.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations
Required Eligibility Criteria Must have a QRIS plan on file with the California Department of Education (CDE) or demonstrate that the QRIS consortium has an operational QRIS.

Allocation Formula Each county participating in a QRIS consortia and in good standing with the CDE shall receive a minimum grant amount of $25,000 for this purpose, with remaining funds distributed to consortia based on their proportion of contracts with the CDE for infant and toddler child care and development.
