After School Education and Safety Increase


Funding Description

This is an additional $100,000,000.00 that was added to the existing Proposition 98 funding in order to raise the After School Education and Safety (ASES) daily reimbursement rate, per student per day. This funding will be continued on an on-going bases into the ASES Program from the State's general fund. The ASES Program is the result of the 2002 voter-approved initiative, Proposition 49. This proposition amended California Education Code Section 8482 to expand and rename the former Before and After School Learning and Safe Neighborhood Partnerships Program.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria ASES Programs at Elementary and Middle Schools, Nonprofit organizations may also apply, but with a Co-applicant from a local educational agencies or public agency that must agree to act as the fiscal agent of the grant.
