Funding Description

The intent of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to expand General Child Care and Development (CCTR) for full-day, full-year funds for General Child Care and Development services statewide. To expand CCTR services, this RFA funding opportunity is available to both Local Education Agencies (LEA) and non-LEAs. These funds are intended to provide direct services for California children up to age 13. Awards will be made by county allocation, and within each county by Local Planning Council priority area, with highest scores being funded first.


Eligible Applicants Institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Any agency registered with the Secretary of State to do business in California, or any public agency or Local Education Agencies (LEA) may apply for funding pursuant to this RFA. Funding is allocated to those counties reflecting a need based on the formula described under program overview. The applicant must be licensed, be eligible for licensing in accordance with 22 CCR, Community Care Licensing, Division 12, or exempt from licensing pursuant to Health, and Safety Code Section 1596.792.
Other Eligibility Considerations If the facilities are exempt by statute or otherwise exempt from licensing, they must comply with any applicable health and safety laws and/or regulations. Services to children may not begin until the contractor submits to CDE a copy of their site license or provides verification of their license exempt status.
