Dear Mr. Martin:

Subject: Apportionment to Centralia Elementary School District, Fiscal Year 2023–24

This apportionment, in the amount of $1,000,000, is made from the General Fund to the Centralia Elementary School District pursuant to Control Section 19.568(c)(3) added to the Budget Act of 2023 in Section 264 of Assembly Bill 102 (Chapter 38, Statutes of 2023) and amended by Control Section 19.568(c)(3) of Section 97 of Senate Bill (SB) 104 (Chapter 189, Statutes of 2023). The apportionment represents 100 percent of the funds available to the Centralia Elementary School District in the fiscal year 2023–24.

The legislative intent is to fund three areas of need for the Centralia Elementary School District: (1) Safety, (2) Health and Safety, and (3) Staff and Community. Furthermore, pursuant to Control Section 19.568(a), funds shall be available for encumbrance through June 30, 2025, and expenditure until June 30, 2027. Funds may be used to pay for costs incurred prior to the enactment of SB 104.

Warrants will be mailed approximately three weeks from the date of this letter. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 7810, Other Restricted State, and Revenue Object Code 8590, All Other State Revenue. The Orange County Superintendent of Schools was notified of this apportionment by email, which was sent to its CDEfisc email address. The notification included a link to this letter and the apportionment schedule, which are posted on the California Department of Education’s web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/ca/specprogonetime23.asp.
