Dear County Superintendents of Schools:

Second Apportionment for Title I, Part D, Subpart 2,
Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth
Who Are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk,
Every Student Succeeds Act,
Fiscal Year 2025–26

This apportionment, in the amount of $1,420,886, is made from federal funds provided to the state under Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth Who Are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (Public Law 114–95). Title I, Part D, Subpart 2 funds are apportioned to local educational agencies (LEAs) to provide programs that serve children and youth who are in locally operated correctional facilities or are attending community day programs for delinquent children and youth, and to provide assistance to children and youth who are neglected or at-risk of dropping out of school. Warrants will be mailed to each county treasurer approximately three weeks from the date of this letter.

Information about the program, allocation, apportionments, grant award identification, applicable federal rules and regulations, and the grant award period are posted on the California Department of Education (CDE) Funding Results page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r14/title1pd25result.asp.

This apportionment provides payments to LEAs that reported their cash balance for the program in October 2025, via the Cash Management Data Collection system and met other program requirements.

County superintendents were notified of this apportionment by email sent to their CDEfisc email addresses. The CDE requested that the email be forwarded to school districts in the counties as applicable and included the links to this letter and the accompanying apportionment schedule posted on the CDE web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/ca/.
