October 20, 2010

Dear County Superintendents of Schools:

RECERTIFICATION OF THE 2010–11 ADVANCE APPORTIONMENT

The 2010–11 Advance Apportionment was recertified after the enactment of Senate Bill 870 (Chapter 712, Statutes of 2010) and other implementing legislation. The recertified Advance Apportionment total is $25,386,592,785.

The recertified 2010–11 Advance Apportionment is calculated by applying adjustments authorized in statute to the 2009–10 Second Principal Apportionment data pursuant to California Education Code Section 41330. A summary of calculations to determine the recertified 2010–11 Advance Apportionment is enclosed. Current year data will be reflected through updates at the subsequent 2010–11 First, Second, and Annual Apportionments beginning in February 2011. Local educational agencies should budget accordingly.

County superintendents should advise districts and charter schools of this apportionment as soon as possible by providing them a copy of this letter. A copy of this letter and the applicable apportionment exhibits are available on the California Department of Education website at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/pa/pa1011.asp.

If you have any further questions regarding this apportionment, or need assistance, please contact the Office of Principal Apportionment and Special Education, at 916-324-4541 or by e-mail at PASE@cde.ca.gov.

Sincerely,

Peter Foggiato, Administrator
Office of Principal Apportionment and Special Education
