Dear Select County and District Superintendents and Charter School Administrators:

EDUCATOR EFFECTIVENESS FINAL EXPENDITURE REPORT

The 2015 Budget Act provided $500 million in one-time Proposition 98 funding to enhance educator effectiveness. Of this amount, $490 million was provided to school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools in an equal amount per certificated staff. The funding could be used for the following purposes:

  • Beginning teacher and administrator support and mentoring

  • Professional development, coaching, and support services for teachers who have been identified as needing improvement or additional support

  • Professional development for teachers and administrators that is aligned to the state academic content standards

  • Promoting educator quality and effectiveness including, but not limited to, training on mentoring and coaching certificated staff and training certificated staff to support effective teaching and learning

As a condition of receiving funds, a school district, county office of education, charter school, or state special school shall on or before July 1, 2018, report detailed expenditure information to the California Department of Education (CDE) including, but not limited to, specific purchases made and the number of teachers, administrators, or paraprofessional educators that received professional development.

The online expenditure report is available on the CDE Educator Effectiveness Final Expenditure Report Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/pl/eefer.asp. Instructions for reporting are also available on this Web page. The universal logon password is 678529.
