Agencies and Sponsors that receive any Nutrition Program Funding from the California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) are required to complete the Annual Audit Status Certification (AASC) form electronically via the Child Information and Payment System (CNIPS)
. However, the information requested on the AASC form is always for the prior fiscal year so the agencies will have a chance to know the amount of federal expenditures. CNIPS will automatically default to the current fiscal year, therefore users must change the year in order to access and complete the proper form. For example, in September 2016 you would be completing the form for fiscal year 2015-16 rather than the current fiscal year of 2016-17.
Please complete the AASC form by following the steps below:
To access the prior year AASC form:
- Log into CNIPS
- Choose the applicable Nutrition Program: (CACFP, SNP or SFSP)
- Select YEAR at the top right of the page
- Choose the correct year
- Select APPLICATION at the top left of the page
- Select ANNUAL AUDIT STATUS CERTIFICATION
- Complete the applicable form fields and submit by choosing the SAVE button on the bottom of the page.
