Digital Citizenship Week 2026

The California Department of Education (CDE), in collaboration with ISTE (International Society for Transforming Education), Common Sense Education, Digital4Good, California State Libraries, Edutopia, and #ICANHELP, will celebrate Fall Digital Citizenship Week from October 19, 2026, to October 23, 2026. California focuses on Digital Citizenship each October to emphasize the importance of ongoing discussions of the topic. This year’s theme, Human-Centered Digital Citizenship in the Age of AI, highlights the skills California students need to live, learn, and connect online in safe, ethical, and responsible ways as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes part of their everyday lives. Lessons and resources can be accessed on the California Educators Together Digital Literacy & Citizenship Week Hub (registration required).
