Administrative Review

An overview of the areas that will be reviewed during the Administrative Review by a Nutrition Program Consultant from the California Department of Education Nutrition Services.

An Administrative Review (AR) is an evaluation conducted by the California Department of Education (CDE) that is mandated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The AR process is designed to ensure that all participating sponsors and agencies comply with the Federal and State program requirements of the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). These programs include the School Nutrition Programs (SNP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Each program has specific guidelines and specifications, which will be outlined in further depth on the pages below. For questions about the AR, please contact your Field Services Representative or call the Field Services Unit main line at 916-323-4558.
