Funding Information

The ECP program reimburses SELPAs for extraordinary costs of single placements in nonpublic, nonsectarian schools (NPS) and special education-related services for pupils residing in licensed children's institutions (LCI). This program also reimburses NSS for extraordinary costs associated with educationally related mental health services, including out-of-home residential services. ECP and NSS ECP for Mental Health Services are components of the Special Education Assembly Bill 602 funding model included in the Principal Apportionment, which is a series of apportionment calculations that adjust the flow of state funds throughout the fiscal year as information becomes known. The Principal Apportionment Overview provides information about the funding calculations and payment schedule.

Funding for these programs is only calculated at Annual on the ECP Claim Process and NSS ECP for Mental Health Services Process exhibits. To access these exhibits, click on the appropriate funding exhibit link below and select Annual, Annual R1, Annual R2, or Annual R3 from the Period dropdown box.
