CSESAP Reporting Requirements

Reporting requirements for school districts and county offices of education that elect to participate in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) for the 2021–22 school year.

Pursuant to California Education Code Section 45500, local educational agencies (LEAs) participating in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program for the 2021–22 school year are required to notify their classified school employees and must also submit two reports to the California Department of Education (CDE) as follows:

  1. By January 1, 2021, a participating LEA must notify their classified school employees of the election to participate.
  2. By April 1, 2021, a participating LEA must notify the CDE that it elected to participate in the program, specify the number of classified employees that have elected to participate, and estimate the total amount to be withheld from participating classified employee paychecks for the 2021–22 school year.
  3. By July 31, 2022, a participating LEA shall request payment from the CDE for the amount of classified employee pay withheld.
