This web page does not include schools that have closed without the LEA closing.

San Joaquin County
Banta Elementary (39-68486) becomes a K-12 district. The Banta Unified School District (USD) has no high school facility as of its July 1, 2021, effective date. High school students residing in the Banta USD will be educated in Tracy USD schools until the new district can provide its own facilities. A district has five years to provide facilities to educate all of its students (see Education Code Section 35780[b]).

Lapses
An LEA lapsation occurs when all the territory of a school district is annexed to one or more adjacent districts. As a result of the lapsation, the schools become property of the annexing district and their CDS codes are updated appropriately to reflect their new district. The annexing district may close the schools by a future action of the district governing board.
