Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program Fiscal Year 2018-19

Funding Description

The Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) provides up to a dollar for dollar match on amounts withheld from a participating local educational agency's (LEA) classified school employees' monthly paychecks during the 2019-20 school year. The classified employees' pay withheld and the state match funds will be paid by LEAs to the LEA's eligible employees in the summer months following the 2019-20 school year.

Eligible Applicants	Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria	School districts and county offices of education that elect to participate must notify their classified school employees by January 1, 2019, and the California Department of Education (CDE) by April 1, 2019.
Other Eligibility Considerations	Classified school employee eligibility requirements also apply and are described in Section 133 of AB 1808, as amended by Assembly Bill (AB) 1840.

Allocation Formula	Apportionments shall be determined for each LEA on the basis of the amount that has been withheld from the monthly paychecks of participating classified employees and placed in a separate account. If the total amount requested by participating LEAs exceeds the amount appropriated, the apportionment amount to LEAs will be prorated accordingly.
