Funding Description

The Tobacco-Use Prevention Education Program coordinate and ensure that Health Disparities strives to offer a youth engagement approach in addressing youth tobacco education to maximize student, staff, peer and community involvement and accelerate and monitor the rate of decline in tobacco-related disparities for the purpose of eliminating tobacco-related disparities. The application deadline has passed. Grant recipients have been awarded funding for a 3-year grant period. This is year 2 of a 3-year grant period for this funding opportunity.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Applicant agencies are limited to public school districts and direct-funded charter schools within the State of California that serve students in grades six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, or twelve (grades 6-12). The LEA must apply on behalf of a school or school sites within its jurisdiction. Individual schools, with the exception of direct-funded charter schools, may not apply directly. Community agencies, private schools, and locally-funded charter schools are not eligible to apply for these funds. Per statute, projects targeting out-of-school students cannot be funded under this application.
Other Eligibility Considerations Grant recipients have been awarded funding for a 3-year grant period. This is year 2 of a 3-year grant period for this funding opportunity.
