Broadband Infrastructure Grant (BIG), CENIC


Funding Description

The Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) has been selected and will be responsible for the Broadband Infrastructure Grant (BIG), in accordance with section 83 of the Senate Bill (SB) 75 (Chapter No.51, Statues of 2019). SB 75 requires the California Department of Education (CDE) to contract directly with CENIC to identify external broadband connectivity solutions that provide fiber broadband connectivity to the most poorly connected school sites to allow digital learning opportunities for pupils. Through this grant, CENIC will provide the CDE with broadband connectivity solutions to be approved by the Executive Director of the State Board of Education and the Department of Finance.
