Lead Local Educational Agency Medi-Cal Billing Option Program Specialist

Funding Description

The California Department of Education is accepting applications from local educational agencies (LEAs) to act as the Lead LEA Medi-Cal Billing Specialist to other LEAs participating, or interested in participating, in the LEA Medi-Cal Billing Option Program.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria LEA applicants (an individual LEA or the lead LEA member of a consortium) must have been participating in the LEA Medi-Cal Billing Option Program (LEA BOP) and claiming for LEA BOP services for a minimum of three years immediately prior to the initial project period start date of June 27, 2022.
Other Eligibility Considerations Applicants not claiming for LEA BOP services in fiscal years 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 will not be eligible for this grant. In addition, applicants must be considered to be in compliant status with the LEA BOP at the time the application is reviewed (e.g., the applicant is up-to-date on submitting all California Department of Health Care Services-required documents and agreements).
