Funding Description

The California Department of Education (CDE) supports continuous quality improvement and responsive teacher-child interactions in California State Preschool Programs (CSPP). Responsive teacher-child interactions require intentional work, which is critical for marginalized communities. The CDE is implementing the CSPP Achieving Success in Positive Interactions, Relationships, and Environments (ASPIRE) program to support the use of Teachstone Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) 2nd Edition.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Must identify as a county office of education and be an existing CSPP Quality Rating and Improvement System block grantee to serve one of four identified regions (A, B, C, or D).
Other Eligibility Considerations Applicants should demonstrate the capacity for CLASS coaching and professional development. They should also demonstrate the capacity to build a network of counties in the region and utilize myTeachstone and other data systems to provide a support system centered around data-informed technical assistance and coaching.
