Performance Tasks Embedded in Learning for Science


Funding Description

Senate Bill (SB) 153, Statutes of 2023, Chapter 38, Section 113 appropriates $7 million from the General Fund to the Superintendent for allocation to the Los Angeles County Office of Education to contract, with the approval of the Executive Director of the State Board, with one or more nonprofit organizations. Los Angeles County Office of Education and their approved subcontractors will utilize the $7 million grant to research existing high-quality, curriculum-embedded performance tasks aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and develop a statewide repository of high-quality, curriculum-embedded performance tasks across all grade levels, for use by local educational agencies and educators to support inquiry-based instruction and assessment.
