Funding Description

Additional funding from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B, Section 611, has been allocated in 2025-26 and 2026-27 to continue the development of the CalTAN Improvement Data Center and to expand the CalTAN servers, optimizing search capabilities. The CalTAN technical assistance hub supports local educational agencies (LEAs) including school districts, charter LEAs, county offices of education, and special education local plan areas.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Selected grantees will provide access to a technical assistance website for LEAs throughout California, including school districts, charter LEAs, County Offices of Education (COEs), and Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs).
Other Eligibility Considerations Through this grant, the California Department of Education (CDE) will renew its contractual agreements with El Dorado County SELPA and Riverside County SELPA to partner with and to continue the development of the CalTAN technical assistance hub.

Allocation Formula The CDE receives funding under three provisions of the federal IDEA. The California Legislature and Governor provide guidelines for these funds through the annual State Budget Act. PCA 15783: $542,000 for 2025-26 to Riverside County SELPA PCA 15816: $500,000 for 2025-26 to El Dorado County SELPA and $750,000 for 2025-26 to Riverside County SELPA
