Dear Marin County Superintendent of Schools:

Apportionment to the
Marin County Superintendent of Schools
for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence
Fiscal Year 2024–25

This apportionment, in the amount of $6,217,000, is made to the Marin County Superintendent of Schools from funds provided in various Schedules and Provisions of Item 6100-106-0001 of the Budget Act of 2024 (Chapter 22, Statutes of 2024), in support of the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). The amount apportioned is equal to 100 percent of the amount available in each of the following Schedules and Provisions of Item 6100-106-0001:

Schedule 1, Provision 2 – An appropriation of $3,019,000 is made, of which $1,470,000 is for the purpose of overseeing CCEE responsibilities and to meet the costs of participation pursuant to the California Education Code (EC) Section 52074. Pursuant to Provision 3 of the Item, any interest earned shall be used to support operational costs of the CCEE. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 7810, Other Restricted State: California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, and Revenue Object Code 8590, All Other State Revenue.

Schedule 2, Provisions 4(a) through 4(e) – An appropriation of $3,198,000 is made for the purpose of activities to build the capacity of local educational agencies (LEAs) consistent with the EC Section 52059.5(b) with focus on the activities specified in Provisions 4(a) through 4(e) of Item 6100-106-0001. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 7810, Other Restricted State: State System of Support, and Revenue Object Code 8590, All Other State Revenue.

Pursuant to Provision 5 of Item 6100-106-0001, the Marin County Superintendent of Schools shall provide a detailed expenditure report to the Department of Finance, the Legislative Analyst’s Office, and the appropriate legislative fiscal committees upon request. The report shall include an accounting of all revenues, including funds not appropriated by the Legislature, revenue generated through fees charged to LEAs pursuant to EC Section 52074, expenditures, and any anticipated revenues and expenditures for the period specified in the request.

A warrant will be mailed to the Marin County Treasurer approximately three weeks from the date of this letter. The Marin County Superintendent of Schools is requested to inform the CCEE immediately regarding this apportionment.

The Marin County Superintendent of Schools was notified of this apportionment by email, which was sent to its CDEfisc email address. The California Department of Education (CDE) requested that the email be forwarded to the CCEE, and included the links to this letter and the apportionment schedule which are posted on the CDE web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/cc/index.asp.
