Dear California Mini-Corps Assistant Superintendent and Senior Director:

Migrant Education Program California Mini-Corps 2024–25 Grant Application

The California Department of Education (CDE) is pleased to announce the Migrant Education Program (MEP) California Mini-Corps (CMC) grant application for fiscal year 2024–25. This grant application is open to the Butte County Office of Education only. Information about the CMC program is available on the CDE Migrant Education Programs and Services web page.

The purpose of the Request for Application is to solicit a provider for a statewide academic tutoring program to support migratory students in the core classroom. The qualified applicant will establish a network of program sites across the state that collaborate with local MEP subgrantees to place college tutors in classrooms to support migratory students who are academically at-risk and demonstrate a priority for service. In addition, the qualified applicant will strive to hire bilingual (Spanish) college students (preferably former migratory students) and provide training and support to those students who are strongly interested in pursuing a teaching career. Funds are determined per the Budget Act and funding availability. The CDE is responsible for ensuring that MEP funds are used by local educational agencies in accordance with all applicable statutory requirements.

The CMC grant application should be submitted to the CDE no later than April 5, 2024.

If you have questions regarding the CMC grant application, please contact Teresa Palomino, Education Programs Consultant, Migrant Education Office, by phone at 916-319-0678 or by email at tpalomino@cde.ca.gov.

Sincerely,

/s/
