The California Department of Food and Agriculture, Food Insight Group (FIG), and the Chef Ann Foundation, are seeking your input through the 2026 California School Food Census.
This voluntary online survey gathers information about how California school districts operate food service programs, procure and prepare food, manage staffing and funding, and engage in farm to school activities.
Census Participation
On August 20, 2026, California school food directors were sent personalized survey links from CASchoolFoodCensus@foodinsightgroup.com. If you did not receive the email and would like to participate, please complete the 2026 California School Food Census Interest Form
available on the FIG web page or email FIG staff directly at CASchoolFoodCensus@foodinsightgroup.com.

The survey due date has been extended to Friday, September 18, 2026.
