The CTC is responsible for licensing (credentialing) California teachers as well as disciplining credential holders. Complete explanations of credential requirements, and listings of teacher preparation programs and CTC-approved subject matter preparations programs are available.

California School Directory
Use the "County Offices of Education and Districts" search function of the California School Directory to find contact information for over 1,000 school districts in California. Each school district in California develops its own policies and procedures regarding the hiring of teachers. The Human Resources Department or Personnel Department of a school district should be able to provide the district’s hiring policies and let you know of any open teaching positions.
