As of March 18, 2020, the CDE Press Sales Office is temporarily closed until further notice. CDE Press sales staff are working remotely to continue to provide customer service Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PDT. CDE Press provides a full range of creative multimedia services, producing and publishing the California Department of Education’s world-class resources for educators, parents, and educational entities. Having served as the Department’s publishing arm for over 50 years, CDE Press extends its reach to every state in the nation and to more than 40 other countries. CDE Press publishes and distributes more educational resources—resources essential to the educational needs of children—than any other state department in the nation.
CDE Press staff members provide services such as writing and editing, layout and design, and sales and distribution. CDE Press, which has received numerous state and national awards for excellence in publishing, also provides services to other state agencies.

CDE Press sells instructional materials such as California content standards, curriculum frameworks, preschool and infant/toddler learning materials, and other educational resources.

Editing and Graphic Design
The purpose of Section 3800 of the Department of Education Administrative Manual (DEAM) is to ensure that all publications produced by the California Department of Education (CDE) meet the highest standards for writing, editing, and design. As the model for educational excellence, CDE must carefully review all publications and educational materials intended for public consumption to ensure the content is appropriate, timely, well written, and thoroughly edited. CDE Press is the unit charged with overseeing the production and sales of all CDE publications.
