CALPADS Special Education Data Spring Roadshows

The California Department of Education, Special Education Division is pleased to announce the following in-person trainings (virtual participation available at some events) in preparation for the upcoming redesign of the collection of data for students with disabilities in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS): CALPADS Special Education Data 2023–24.

These sessions will train local special education data coordinators and special education local plan area (SELPA)-level staff on the updates and changes for the CALPADS End-of-Year 3 and 4 Submissions. The training will cover:

• End-of-Year Reporting deadlines
• End-of-year reminders for auditing the data in your local special education data system
• Reporting and reviewing disciplinary incident data and reports for students with disabilities, including restraint and seclusion
• Reporting and reviewing data and reports for special education plans, special education program exits, and post-school outcomes
• End-of-Year monitoring and compliance data and reports in CALPADS
  • Parental Involvement
  • Timeliness of Initial Evaluations, including evaluations required by the student's third birthday
• Individualized Education Program (IEP) Implementation Data Collection
• Changes for 2024–25

SELPA staff, district, and site-level special education data coordinators are welcome to attend. CALPADS local educational agency (LEA) administrators may attend only if space is available.
