Local Control Funding Formula Priority Area
Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Priority Areas used for Direct Technical Assistance (DTA) determinations.In July 2026, the State Board of Education adopted new criteria for differentiated assistance determinations. These new criteria moved away from LCFF Priority Areas and, instead, focused on local educational agency (LEA) performance in the State indicators. However, while differentiated assistance no longer relies on performance in the LCFF Priority Areas, DTA determinations still uses the LCFF State Priority Areas.
For the 2026 DTA eligibility determinations, LEAs must meet the following criteria in three out of four years (i.e., 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026):
- Student group performance in two or more LCFF State Priority Areas
