Dear County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, Treasurers, and Special Education Local Plan Area Directors:

2006–07 Second Principal Apportionment

Early in July, county treasurers received a warrant that reflects state aid for programs included in the 2006–07 Second Principal Apportionment for elementary, high, and unified school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education. The 2006–07 Second Principal Apportionment statewide was for a total of $27,571,262,601.

Included with this letter is a summary of the method by which the 2006–07 Second Principal Apportionment was calculated. A copy of this letter and the apportionment exhibits providing Second Principal Apportionment and prior-year correction detail are available on the California Department of Education’s Web site under Principal Apportionments at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/pa/pa0607.asp.
