  • Item 1–Call to Order: Welcome and Introductions; Mission and Vision; Approval of Minutes.
9–9:35 a.m.
  • Item 2–Committee and Region Updates: Region co-managers and committee chairs share news and updates.
9:35–9:50 a.m.
  • Item 3–Collaborating with the Advisory Commission on Special Education (ACSE) on Youth Voice: WAI Advisory will discuss collaborating with the California Transition Alliance regarding the integration of youth voice on ACSE.
9:50–10:00 a.m.
  • Item 4–Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.

  • Item 5–School Based Business: WAI Advisory will discuss requirements for developing a school-based business.

  • Item 6–WAI Future Needs: WAI Advisory will discuss how WAI Standing Committees can assist in training needs, resources, and other initiatives.

  • Item 7–WAI Handbook: WAI Advisory will review the major components of the recently released WAI Handbook.
11:10 a.m.–11:20 a.m.
  • Item 8–Revisiting the Request for Application (RFA) Discussion: WAI Advisory will discuss with the SED the feasibility of opening an RFA for the WAI grant.
11:25–11:30 a.m.
  • Item 9–Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.
11:30–12:45 p.m.
  • Lunch
12:45–1:50 p.m.
  • Item 10–Evidence Based Practices: A representative from the California Autism Professional Training and Information Network will present on evidence-based practices that are related to the transition from youth to adulthood.
1:50–2:20 p.m.
  • Item 11–CDE Update: CDE staff will discuss recent developments within the SED, as well as updates to key areas related to the WAI grant.
2:20–2:30 p.m.
  • Item 12–Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.
